Loranger, Gravel, Heise named NAPA Auto Parts 3 Stars of the Week

Sherwood Park Crusaders forward Jeremy Loranger, Prince George Spruce Kings goaltender Charles-Edward Gravel and Penticton Vees forward Max Heise have been named the NAPA Auto Parts 3 Stars of the Week.

1st Star- Jeremy Loranger (F) – Sherwood Park Crusaders

Loranger led the league in points (seven) and goals (five) in two games last week, guiding Sherwood Park to two victories to complete their first-round series sweep over the Salmon Arm Silverbacks.

The rookie forward had two goals in a 4-0 victory on Tuesday, then scored a hat trick and picked up two assists in the Crusaders’ 7-4 win on Wednesday where he was named first star of the game.

Loranger leads the league in playoff scoring with 11 points in four games and is also the top goal scorer with six. The Cru are now heading to the second round of the playoffs where they will face the Brooks Bandits.

2nd Star- Charles-Edward Gravel (G) – Prince George Spruce Kings

Gravel started all four of Prince George’s postseason games last week, earning a 3-1 record with a .962 save percentage, 1.26 goals-against average and one shutout. The Levis, Que. product allowed two goals or fewer in all four contests, stopping 127 of the 132 shots he faced.

In Game 3 last Tuesday against the Chilliwack Chiefs, Gravel stopped 18 of 19 shots in a 3-1 win, then made 43 saves the following night in a 5-2 victory to tie the series 2-2. He made another 42 saves in a 2-1 defeat in Game 5 on Friday before posting his first BCHL playoff shutout on Sunday evening, stopping all 24 shots he faced to force a deciding Game 7 tonight.

Gravel own a 3-3 record in the postseason with a .940 save percentage and a 2.04 goals-against average.

3rd Star – Max Heise (F) – Penticton Vees

Heise averaged three points per game last week as he recorded six points in two contests against the Okotoks Oilers.

On Tuesday, Heise notched a goal and three assists in a 6-3 victory in Game 3, then carried the momentum into the following night where he put up two assists in a 4-2 victory to help his team complete the sweep and advance to the second round.

Heise leads the Vees in scoring so far this postseason with seven points in four games. Penticton will play the Cranbrook Bucks in Round 2.
